Welcome to the Ericson's Homepage !!!

You've found Christopher Ericson, Michelle Ericson, Sean and Delaney's homepage from Portland, Oregon, USA.  After having the U. S. Navy move us around for lo these many years, Chris got smart and posted a website to enable friends from Japan, Florida, Texas, San Diego, Oregon State, the Naval Academy and elsewhere to find us and keep track of us.  Of course he did this after leaving the Navy and going to the airlines, but better late than never.  Hope you find this useful and fun...

Chris, Michelle, Delaney, Sean, Bandit, Guinness and three hermit crabs welcome you to our virtual abode.  While our meatspace location is sunny Portland, Oregon, USA, we've established this site to keep our friends and family updated with news and happenings.

If there is something that you would like to see that is not here, please email us and we'll do our best to provide.  As always, if you are going to be in the area, please let us know.  The picture section of the site is password-protected; if you want the password email me.

What's going on in our lives?

04Jun06

Michelle and I just returned from two weeks in China.  We were in Beijing, traveled to Tibet, spent some time in Shijiazhuang, Shingtai (and I am sure I misspelled that) and then back home.  We had a GREAT time.  The sights were phenomenal (as was the food) but the best parts of the trip were the people that we met and the friends that we made.  Some highlights:  We ended up at about 17,000 feet in Tibet, ate squirrel, yak and sheeps-head; drank several gallons of Tsingtao beer; was introduced to baijo (a very strong Chinese liquor) as well as a herb wine made from snake and deer antler, had no less that 8 banquets (one of which was in Shingtai where I got to choose the food and we were delivered home in a sort of police car owned by the local prosecutor)... I could go on.  It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we hope to make it a twice-in-a-lifetime experience (or more).  Hopefully some of our new friends will come to visit us.

I've placed some pictures in the picture section.  I will try to add more (in addition to adding captions) over the next week or so, but it is an arduous process so please be patient..

October was a big month.... Delaney turned six!!!  For her big six-year-old celebration we took a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.  That was a big hit both for her and Sean, who had never been to Disneyland.  The weather in Oregon is currently pretty bad; we have received about six inches of rain in the past week.

(06Oct05)

Sorry about the 2 month hiatus... summer happened, Delaney broke the camera, Chris was either working or playing and we all joined a gym with a pool and spent the better part of the summer swimming and working out.  October is a big month... Delaney turned six (see the pics), Chris assaulted Mount Hood and Sean started pre-school.

Summer is upon us and with it all the summer camps, trips to the coast and other 'summery' stuff that the kids require.  Delaney is taking classes at the zoo this month.  Sean is home playing with his back-hoe... his favorite toy... his favorite word... we have a budding construction engineer.  Michelle is spending a weekend in mid-July at the beach with college buddies, and Chris is trying to get in a hike or two before the wx turns bad again.  New pics are on the site; enjoy.

(02May05)

We went to Monterey for a wedding last week.  It was fun to show the kids where I went to High School, and since my parents met us up there Delaney and Sean had fun hanging around with  Grandma and Grandpa. On the way back North we had a mini family get-together hosted by my Grandma Ericson... it was fun introducing Delaney to all her cousins.  Pics to follow as soon as I get them from my folks.

(26Mar05)

Not much new in the past two weeks.  We took a small vacation to the Oregon Coast at Canon Beach and had a great time.  The weather has turned back to Oregon standard; right now it is 45 and blowing rain sideways.  Sean is in full-on run-around mode and has a thing for tool, which makes his Grandpa happy.  Delaney is is lead in the school play (she is 'Honey Rabbit') and is busy practicing her lines... all 2 of them.

Sorry it has been so long between postings.  We've been working on a new password protection feature for the picture/calendar folders (too many pervs on the 'net)... the username is 'Guest' and the password is the official name of the Hoover (it's a proper noun, people, so the first letter is capitalized)... if this is not enough of a hint please email me and I'll send it to you.  Michelle is off at a wedding this weekend in Chicago, so my parents are up for the weekend.  My father built a rockin' bed for Sean; pics posted when I get to it.  WX in PDX is OUTSTANDING:  70's and clear.  It'll probably rain all summer....  :-)
